Following my immanent interest in science and biology I completed a formation for Bioengineer. After several years of work in the field of vaccine development, molecular biology and virology I subsequently gained experience in cell biology and inflammatory mediators at the University of Bern and Zürich, Switzerland. In 2004 I moved from Switzerland to Bergen in Norway in order to pursue an academic career in medical research and immunology. I defended my doctoral thesis entitled The Autonomy of Different Aspects of Sjögren’s Syndrome and their Treatment in an Experimental Model in 2008 and am now working as a post doctoral researcher. Until this day I have authored and co-authored 15 scientific peer-reviewed articles and 2 bookchapters in the fields of Sjögren’s syndrome, biomarkers, systems biology, bioinformatics, saliva diagnostics and therapeutic intervention.
